I don't think as much about this album as I do about the others this band has made, but I can never go too long without coming back to this song. Even before I saw the lyrics, the music and especially the voice set a melancholy but indescribably sweet and human tone.

I first heard this not knowing who the Milk Carton Kids were and thought they had a female backup singer for this song, but it's just Joey singing very pretty. I'm a big fan of both voices and wish they sang this song in concerts more.

It is impossible to change anyones mind when the thought of change is not even considered.

I didn’t think you guys could get better, but then you got a whole band together and created this Everly brothers/Western swing/trippy/sad/beautiful masterpiece. I’ve honestly never heard anything quite like this

good job guys. My favorite song to play and sing. Of all the covers I have heard I like yours the best. I love that you didn't just do a copy of Jacksons version but brought out the sweetness and sadness in the song. I always felt a tenderness in my belly when I would sing this. Truthfully, Jackson doesn't really go there either but of course his is the definitive version. But consider how Gregg Allman did so much more with These Days. Also liked your unique vocal inflections, also different than Jacksons. Hooray for some originality.

This is one of my favorite songs. I listen to it on repeat some days.

Heard a live version first, wasn't expecting the ghost choir in the studio version, wasn't expecting it to add SO MUCH beauty and sombre feeling to the song instead of detracting from anything.

Kenneth so beautiful in the high notes here. Joey Ryan's voice is lovely and instantly recognizable, that heart-catching rasp in it, and it's the first thing I appreciated when I heard my first MCK song (I was too ignorant to appreciate the guitar yet lol), but Kenneth Pattengale is their secret vocal weapon. He's so versatile, he's got three or four different voices for different types of songs, and he's only gotten stronger with time and experience.

I just wanted to return to this video to post that I saw it back in 2012 while researching acts to see at SXSW. Thankfully I saw this and became a lifelong fan of The Milk Carton Kids. I've now seen them at least 15 times over the years.
